SUMMER SIZZLE
A Long Beach Art Exhibition In the heat of summer you will walk in the cool doors of the formerly historic Art Deco Blue Café. The mood is set with the painting by Stanley Howard of a nude sun worshipper flanked by two of his other waterfall paintings. You are enter galleries that are filled with the best season in California and by the sea. Below those paintings is the photography of David Gardner’s Cosmic Elements. These are next to his recycled art that goes from the totally abstract to multi-dimensional perfectly aligned squares that are were constructed to be hung inside or out. To your right is the wild and wonderfully composed collages of LARK of totally repurposed objects. Sitting on the stage is the seven foot tall sculptured by renown Ecological Trash Assemblage artist Michael Carrier. You are invited in the opposite door by the mosaics that frame the photography and paintings of Anita Rosenberg. The scenes of the south of France an d Tuscany give you that dreamy feeling that you can only experience in those regions.
The big highlight of the night will be a special perfomance by Eva Montealege in Recreating EVE-A!
Recent DNA studies have proven that we all came from one Eve and one Adam that can be traced to Africa. If you are alive today, you are the descendent of cave painters, the humanoids that survived were artists, storytellers, musicians, dancers – shamans
You are now the modern Eve, the modern Adam. Like in the days of yore we will gather in the womb of gallery/theatre experience and recreate a cave happening with the fire of our own souls. We will tell the secrets of our heart’s truth. It will be a healing experience of art, song, dance and spoken word and we will be together, in the shadows of our ancestors - the cave painters!
